•The Palmerstoh.North Coursing Club ran off preliminary, rounds, of the Manawatu Hundred 'andlHippy Stakes at'the.'Terraco:End.course', yesterday .afternoon,V-There was a good; attendance in spite of the wet weather and .counter attractions. Some good courses were witnessed, there being small percentage"of--kills. The Tiares' were in splendid condition, mainly dup /; to-tho fact that'they had .recently arrived from'; the south and were not cramped with tlie wet. The. mbs't exciting course of ,the:day'was between Ocean Waves and Perfection, the former, only winning by one point. ■'' Tlie . excitement amongefc'the 1 spectators was very' keen; Slid they could not refrain from cheering.
