SPORTING.
At the annual meeting of the Rangihkei Racing Club, reference-was made to, the efforts of the committee, to obtain restoration of its license, and/the opinion was held that success would follow the agitation. During the discussion Mr Mansell criticised tho methods'of,the Racing Commission and their hurried visit to Bulls. (Mr "It was no use them coming at all. ) iney had a-course which the ;Doimruon might well b e 'proud of. (Applause;), He felt the cancellation of the Club!s racing permits very keenly. indeed, -and, he, hoped tuey would be restored.-Mr J. H. Perrett said tlicro seemed to be someone in the district keeping the Minister! supplied with information, For instance, it had .been suggested, that .the Club's lease was "a "fake, .and that it was only a 1 "family affair., been done'since tho deputation waited on the Minister. -It, ,is satisfactory to note rjiat the Minister was favourably inclined to ■stowi-his v .sympafhy:;towards;:clubs; which catered for- a'serviceable class of horse.-Mr Mansell suggested that ifjtho.'integrity of the lease was: doubted, itfeßould be'sent to the Minister, to show that ib was legitimate and' not a ; family; affair.
