Malt King (Black) 9,4 2, Aurofodina (Smith) 3. Eleven starters. Cisco jumped to the front followed by Malt King, Beverage, and Pliilio. When they settled, down .Comedy King took charge from Cisco, with Beverage and Malt Kiij* the,, nearest, 'attendants.' Cisco was again in front at nine furlongs post with Respect. At the six furlongs post Cisco had a, clear lonylJi from Beverage, with Aurofodina, Comedy King, Malt Ring, Los Aiigelos and Lady Medallist next in that order. There was little change n( the Imlf mile, except that Beverage ran into second and Malt King into third places. Aurofodina. showed the way round the betid and well into tho straight from Cisco, Beverage. Comedy King, and Lady jlcdallist, Below the St. Leger post Lady Medallist put in a claim, and getting a clear run on the rails, landed a clear victory by half a length, with Aurofodina a length away, and Comedy King fourth. Tripple was the first to show out, but Ventura almost immediately took cliargo and led round the bond into the straight. She was never once overhauled, and well ridden by McLachlan, landed a ■ victory by two lengths. Aurifer was a length away third. Time, 54j.. After covering a furlong Formulate took command with Royal Scotch and St. Petersburg near attendants, At the willows the order was Royal Scotch and St, Petersburg racing together, with Our Queen and Miscount closo up, Formulate last. Miscount j.ut in his run at the turning for home, and the trio settled to business, and a _ great race ensued, Mr Ormond's colt winning by a head, half a neck between second and third, with Our Queen fourth and Formulate bringing up the rear.
