A German mail steamer brings news of the murder of Capt. Broetters in Gorman New Guinea, Capt. Brocttcr's schooner, carrying a crew of four Europeans and twenty natives, was exploring the north-west of Friedrich "Wiihclm&haven. Captain Broctter and another European, when examining a river, were surrounded by natives, Captain liroetter being fatally scared. His companion escaped by floating down the river on a log. He found that the schooner had disappeared, and it is feared it foundered in a storm with all hands. The German authorities have despatched a punitive expedition to the scene of the murder.
