STRANDED VESSELS.

WANGANUI, Sept. 25. Tlio barqiicntine C:irla and cargo were sold by auction to-day, being knocked down for £290 to Mr A. Ilatrick. who intends at onco to take the necessary stops towards refloating her at tho next spring tides, The vessel still lies in an easy position, and, providing her hull has suffered no damage, tho prospects of floating her iff are fairly good. Tho Danish Consul has made arrangements for the crew to return to Denmark. There seems to bo good prospects of the barqiicntine Pelotas, which went ashore on Castlocliff Beach three or four months ago, being also refloated very soon, The purchasers have removed the greater part of her cargo, stopped tho leaks, and pumped her dry. To-day she was afloat for a few minutes at the top of the tide, and, if tkweather serves, an attempt will be made to tow her off in a day or two.
