"AS WELL-KNOWN AS ROBINSON CRUSOE." (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. ?6 Tho Mokau Committee .resumed this morning _ to hear a statement by Mr Jones Mr Jennings intimated that tho statement would be confined to matters before the Committee. Mr Jones said he had prepared a short synopsis from 1876 to the present day, and would like tho Committee to hear it. Mr Jennings reiterated that the statement would have to be confined to papers forming the subject matter of the inquire Mr Jon«s' story, he said, was as well known as Robinson Crusoe's. Ho slighted Mr Jones should again pcliriun Parliament. The Committee would not allow matter from 1376 to be traversed. Mr Jones said ha wanted to produce the Stout-Palmer report and comment on it. Eventually the, Committeo decided to adjourn further hearing till Thursday, to give Mr Jones an opportunity of rc-enshng his statement to begin at the time when negotiations were opened by Mr Herruian Lewis. j
