The secretary of tho Wanganui Association wroto to the New Zealand Boxing Council stating that tho welter-weight professional championship was not at stake when W. B. Burns and D. Murphy met at Wanganui on May 24th last, as Bums, vho winner, was 2|lbs ovor weight. It was decided that tho title should revert to T. Tracey, of Wellington, It was decided that it was an offence against the competition laws for a competitor to oil or grease his face.
