HIGHLAND DIP AND ANIMAL MEDICINES.

[ Alex. Robertson/ and Sons, of the Argyll Chemical Works, Oban, Scotland, have a vory attractive exhibit ot their Highland Dip and animal medicines, in tho Agricultural Hall, at the Show. The word "Highland" 'is a generic title applied to various forms of sheep dip manufactured by this well-known firm. The manufacture dates from the time when tho practice of smearing sheep was discorded in tho Highlands, It began with tho manufacture- of a paste dip, combining the properties of a powder (arsenical) dip. with tho phenols of tho non-poisonous (carbolic) dips, incorporated with an adhesive waterproofing base designed to resist tho rainfall of that humid climate. Highland Sheep Dip holds (ho field at Homo against imitations produced by every sheep dip maker in Britain, Paste sheep dip is the favourite' dip for autumn dipping in Scotland, Ireland and the north and west ,of England. ' It is also extensively used in New Zealand, and was tho only dip that successfully coped with "scab" in tho Falkland Islands and Iceland.

David Wood, in the second edition of his work on sheep dipping, singles out Robertson's Highland as the only dip which fulfils every, condition laid down by the United States Government.

Highland Fluid Dip contains the samo active ingredients as the paste dip, but instead of being incorporated with an insoluble base, these are, in tho case of thc fluid, combined with oleates and unsaponifiable oils to form a dip instantly mixablo with cold water. Highland Fluid dip embodies'all the special features of the paste, except that of waterproofing tho fleece. In dry climates it is a most enduring dip, freeing sheep from ricks, lice and filth of overy description and keeping them clean. This dip is largely used in the north of Ireland'and the Dominion and the Argentine, 22,000 gallons alono being sold in the- latter country in 1909. Highland Powder Dip is a properly made powder dip, and is only produced by chemical knowledge and oxperionco. It eradicates ticks and lice, but is not a. mere vermin killor. In its preparation the effect on tho animal and jtsv.'flecco is a foremost consideration. Numerous testimonials have been received about the splendid qualities of this dip.
