The euchre tournament which was held iii the hall oil Wednesday evening last wis fi'ii'lv well altended and proved very enjoyable. Twelve games were played, Miss Jj. Kerrigan scoring tho full number and won the lady's prize, while six tied for the 'ffentlomon's prize. In the draw Mr W. Sherridan was tho successful winner. Tho booby prize for men resulted in an easy win for Mr F. McCool. For the booby prize for ladies Ihree tied and in tho draw Mis« Tyer was the successful competitor. Mr J. Newton presented tho prizes, and in a very eloquent speech thanked (hose who had attended and likewise those who had assisted. Subsequently the floor was cleared, refreshment? were supplied in abundance, and dancing was indulged in to tho time of excellent music supplied by Miss Spellman (piano) and Mr H. McDonnell (cornel). Extras wore played by Mies McDonald and Mr Lowry. Mr J, McDonald in a very capable manner discharged tho duties of M.C. The fortnightly assembly was held on Friday evening and was well attended. These assemblies are very enjoyablo and are well patronised. We experienced three heavy frosts re cenl.lv, which had a great effect on grass, and consequently must affect stock, Invitations have been sent out for a cricketers' ball, which is to bo held in I'olyton on the 21st instant, and I am informed tho Valley is to be well represented,
