SERIOUS BURNING ACCIDENT.
WOMAN'S TRYING EXPERIENCE,
As the result of a burning accident Mrs Alice Burnott, wife of Mr T. Burnet, a blacksmith, residing in Isewtoil road, Auckland, was admitted to the hospital oil Thursday morning, where she now lies in a critical condition, On the previous evening Mrs Burnett fell asleep while sitting in front of the fire, She awoke later to iiiid that her clothes had caught on fire, and rushed into the street enveloped in a mats of flames. Seeing the woman's plight a neighbour, Mr E. Bruce, ran out with a blanket, with which he succeeded in smothering the flames. As a result of tho accident Mrs Burnett, who is only 27.years of age, was badly burned from the waist downwards. At the time of the accident the only other occupants of the house were Mrs | Burnett's three children, her husband being out. Inquiries made at the hospital showed that the sufferer had rallied a little, although the'shock, to her system was very severe. .
