BANQUETING . THE COLONIALS.
(By Electric Telegraph-Copyright.) (Peb Pbess Association.) LONDON, Juno 15. Captain J, Boyd-Carpenter gave a banquet to tho Overseas Ministers in the Cannaught rooms. Hon. Mr Pearcc, Commonwealth Minister for Defence, responding to the toast of tho Dominions, said the surest way to avoid militarism and jingoism was to make every citizen a soldier. Australia did not believe ifc was a manly [lung to allow England to always bear tho bin den of the colonics. Sir Wm. Hall-Jones also spoke.
A RECEPTION,
The Primate, Most Rev. Randall Tlios. Davidson and Mrs Davidson, gave a reception to the overseas delegates at Lambath Palace. A thousand guests were present, including the Duchess of Albany, tho Duke> and Duchess of Saxc-Coburg, Earl and Lady Crewe, Earl and Lady Portsmouth, Ear and Latlv Roberts. Lord Kitchener, Lord Rosebery, and Viscount and Lady Esher.
