I would give the "Stan- ■ dard" credit; for more sense than to , take that gentleman seriously. The .Midland railway contract- was let pre- ■ vious to the Seddon Government coining into power about twenty years ■ ago, J am not sure. as to the exact " date oir which Mr Samuel. Vaile went J ''cracked" on railways. I can mind that ? gentleman's effusions on railways for : : upwards of twenty years approxi- : mately. . Aucklanders seem veryjealous of all railways .outside their own district. . .Dooming, as Aueidand is at ])rosent..it is not. the whole of : : jS T ewf ; Zealand.
