PALMERSTON RIFLES.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of ; the Palmenafco* Rifle 3 was hold last evening, Capt Moun6ey presiding; Lieutenant Louisson form-, ally resigned -his position in the corps. Several members expressed their appreciation of'his past services, the loss the corps would suffer by his resignation. The annual report and balance-sheet, the latter showing a credit balance of £ll6 16s 3d, wa6 adopted. The following officers were elected:— Secretary, Corporal' Ball; custodian, Sergt. Stock; shooting committee, QolSergt. Pcrrin, Sergt. Stock, Corporal Pratt, Bugler Dilkes, and Privates Geff Tremaine. Cook, and Gill Tremaine. .Corporal Ball was presented with the trophies he had won during tho past year at snooting. After the meeting, a farewell 60Cial was tendered to the members of tho corps, who arc resigning under the Defence Act. A very enjoyable evening was spent, at a suitable stage of the proceedings, the retiring secretary. Sergt. Bell, was presented with a handsome dining-room clock.
