THE CITIZENS' LEAGUE.
SELECTION OF COUNCIL CANDIDATES. At a meeting of the committee of the Citizens' League, held last night the following candidates were selected in connection with the municipal elections: ' Mr E. L. Broad Mr Bruce Beale Mr 11. J. Canton Mr W. L. Fitzherbcrt Mr Fred. Jackson Mr F. R. Nathan Mr T. J. Rodgers Mr F. Rolfo Mr F. J. Taskcr In connection with the public meeting, to be held on Friday night, tho committee has appointed the following speakers: —Aims and objects of the league, Mr Andrew Guy; electric trams, Mr W. Park; water supply, Mr A. 11, Wylds and R. S. Abraham; baths and library, Mr W..L. Fitzherbort.' Addresses will bo limited to time, and following upon, them there will be a general discussion. _ The object tho League had before it in selecting the candidates was to get them as representative of tho different sections of the community as was possible, and in the list of names placed beforo the ratepayers they consider they have achieved that object. Each of tho candidates is well known in town, and each is known to have the interests and welfare of Palmerston thoroughly at heart.
