DR HENRY'S FAREWELL.

Dr. J. Q. A. Henry, tho well-known evangelist, accompanied by Mr Farquhar, his singing associate, left tho Bluff today for Melbourne, after a most successful campaign in New Zealand. In a faicwell letter to Mr J. Wallace, tho convenor of hi 6 committee in Palmcrstcn, the doctor says:—"l have given to Mew Zealand ono of the best years of my life, and my solo regret is that I have net been able to do more and better work. The difficulties have been many and tho burdens, at timee. oppressive, but notable victories for the Kingdom have been won. Everywhere the welcome has been warm, tho preparation thorough, the cooperation of pastors and people hearty, the fellowship joyous, and the triumphs of the Gross blessed. Through the campaign the spiritual life of hundreds of churches has been immensely quickened; a half-scoro of young- people- have pledged themselves to the work of the ministry or mission fields; tho temperance camo 'has been advanced; fho Y.M.C.A. and the Y.YV.C.A. have been stimulated and strengthened; numbers of the natives have been converted, and many nioio cheered and comforted by the services held among them; hundreds of business men have been confirmed in the faith and lead to a- more- whole-hearted consecration of their powers to God; a triumphant testimony has been born to theefficacy and undiminished power of tho Old Book and its message to men, and a. distinct contribution has been madeto the preparation for tho coming of Dr. Chapman and Mr Alexander, _ in 1912. when I believe the whole Dominion will be swept with a tidal wavo of blessing. This fair and promising portion cf the world is ripo for a wide-spread revival of religion. Moreover, it is greatly needed to curb tho lust for gambling, to counteract the inordinate lovo of pleasure, and to Invigorate Protestantism. My debt cf gratitude to tho people and press of NewZealand for their co-operation and help is unspeakably great."
