AT FITZHEBBERT EAST,

A'SETTLER MISSING,

A fire occurred just after one o'clock this afternoon at Fitzherbert East, whereby the residence of Mr G. Pagett was destroyed. , , Mr Pag«tt himself is missing, and tne police have been communicated with, as it is feared ho met his doath in the burning building. Mrs Pagett was in town when the fir© occurred, and was only informed by the police of the, ocourrenoe after the house was destroyed. Mr Pagett took his milk to the creamery as usual this morning, and it is surmised that on returning ho went into the house to have a sleep, and was thus caught by the flames before he had time to escape. ' , , A constable is at present scarohing the ruins.
