WANGANUI TRACK NOTES.

(Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, Feb. 25. Heavy rain fell during the night and still continues. It will improve the track for the races, though it made the going heavy this morning. North East wont once round fast; St. Bill covered four furlongs fast. jVice-. Admiral, Peirene, Grandee, Taft and St. Gate set oft' to run five furlongs together. Vice-Admiral got away before the others, but Peirene caught him, and the pair passed tho post together. Madame Madcap went a fast round. Astraea and' Torbelle, jumped the schooling hurdles 'well, Torbelle making tho best showing. Playmate did half-pace work, and the rest of Prosser's string did slow work. Miss Mischief went a mile and 'a quarter by herself at a good working gallop, A number of others did useful work. -
