EAST COAST RAILWAY LEAGUE.

(Peb Prkrb ARRnnuTioN.i MASTERTON, Feb. 23. At a meeting held to-night preliminary steps were taken in the direction of forming an East Coast Railway League to urge upon Parliament the necessity of pushing forward the railway between Gisborne and Napier and Hawke's Bay and Mastcrton, together with the deviation of the Rirmitaka Railway, with a view to opening up country at present undeveloped, and of securing transport of forces for defence purposes.
