The weather was wet, but despite'that a very large crowd of citizens; assembled at the railway station, and subsequently at the Drill Hall, where speeches were made "toy the Mayor and others. Mr; Wade (conductor), Lieut. Buckley (bandmaster), awd Mr Muir (manager) replied on. behalf of the Band.' Each' paid a tribute to the treatment received in Australia and Auckland. The proceedings were enthusiastic.
