HAWKE'S BAY MEETING. . SECOND DAY. (Peb Pbess Abbociation.) HASTINGS, Oct. 6 The second day of the Hawke's Bay J.C. meeting is being run to-day under favourable conditions. The attendance is good. Eleven licensed bookmakers are in attendance. Results: —
Mangapapa . Handicap, Hurdlee.T-To Whetu 1. Capt! Jingle 2. Won by two lengths. Time, 2.49. ■ Pikopo- fell, bringing down Whakaweira and Appin. Pikopo had to bo destroyed. Ngatarawa Handicap.—Cullinan 1, Idealism 2, Mediterranean 3. All started. Won by a length and a half. Time, 1.51.
Hawke's Bav Guineas. —Tribulation 1. Birkdale 2. Lord Kelvin 3. Time, 1.41 1-5. Won'' by a long neck. Scratched: Danube, Formedon, Gold Circle. .The winner jumped off with the lead, closely followed by Birkdalo.; : Although the latter put in a strong challenge at the home bend lie was unable to get hie nose in front. To Mahariga Hurdles.—Centaur 1. Rangihaeta 2, Longner 3. All started.
