THE CORINTHIC'S PASSENGERS. THE ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION. GOVERNMENT HOUSE SICKNESS. (Peb Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 5. There were 25 domestic servants on board the Corinthic, which arrived in Wellington from London to-day. Nearly all have come out to fill situations found for them in various places of New Zealand before they left the Old Country. The steamer also brought 26 farmers and 24 farm labourers. The total number'of passengers who came out under the assisted system was 197, of whom 57 werechildren.

The male immigrants were met as usual by Mr A. A. S. Danby, of the Immigration Department, and Mr Proctor, of the Labour Department, and the female passengers in the third class by the lady representatives of the women's employment branch of the Labour Department.

Dr.- Wilson, of the Anarctic Expedition, with Mrs Wilson and Mrs Scott, wife of Capt. R. Scott, leader of the party, came out by the Corinthie from London, but left the ship at Hobart. They will join the Terra Nova at Melbourne and conio by her to New Zealand.

Inspector Jones, of the Shropshire County police force, arrived in Wellington, by the Corinthic to-day for the purpose of taking back to England Herbert Walter Insull. arrested in Hawke's Bay on a charge of having embezzled £500 from his late employers, Frank Lloyd and Co., of Ellesmere, Shropshire. It is understood there are no additional cases of sickness among members of the household at Government House. The Public Works Department has been investigating the drainage system thoroughly. There is no likelihood of the Governor and Lady Islington resuming their residence at the house until they are assured by their advisers that it is not imprudent to do eo. The family will, therefore, remain at Featherston for the present. The drains are to be thoroughly tested for defects, and complete investigation into the- sickness carried out. by the Government experts. ■ ,
