COLLISION UNDER THE CHANNEL.
FRENCH SUBMARINE SUNK. THE CREW DROWNED. (By Electric Telegraph—Cofiright.] (Per Press Association.) ■ Received May 27, 9.10 a.m. ' PARIS, May 26. A French submarine feank in the Channel and the crew were drowned. The mishap was caused by coming into collision with the South-Eastern Railway Company's steamer Pas de Calais.
TWENTY-THREE MEN DROWNED,
A SAD OCCURRENCE.

LONDON, May 26.
The weather was fine and clear. The submarine, which was the Pluvoise, was not seen after the collision. Twentythree men were drowned.
Five French torpedoers have commenced dragging operations. The Pas de Calais carried 280 passengers. Her bows were badly damaged and she was obliged to return to Calais.
