THE KING'S BIRTHDAY.
(By Electbio Telegraph—Copyright.) (Per Press Association..) Received May 26, 10.5 a.m. SYDNEY, May 26. Unless the King's eldest son is proclaimed Prince of Wales before his birthday (June 23) the day will not be declared a public holiday. Owing to the King's .birthday being a statutory holiday a difficulty is likely to arise over the King's desire for its nonobservance this year.
NO CELEBRATION DESIRED ON JUNE 3.

The Prime Minister has received the following communication through his Excellency the Governor from _ the Secretary of State for the Colonies: —"It is the King's pleasure that for the current year there should be no celebration of his Majesty's birthday, either here or elsewhere in the Empire."
