CAPETOWN, May 25. A progressive conference at Bloemfontein formed a Unionist Party for South Africa, Dr. Jameson being unanimously elected leader. He received an ovation. Dr. Jameson summed up the new party's policy as follows: —Equality of opportunity and the material development of South Africa, the common interest and legitimate protection of South Africane and reciprocal preference within the Empire. He hoped to get lid of the bugbear of racialism.
