ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

(Feb Pbess Association.) TAIHAPE, May 25. An old settler and station-holder at Pukeokahu named John Joseph Boyd was found dead on the road three miles from home between 9 and 10 last night. His horse slipped on a sheep siding and evidently brought up on the verge of a perpendicular cutting, below which there was a drop of 12 feet to the creek. Boyd must have been 6hot off into the creek, and fell with his head on a stone. His wife resides at Napier, and his brother at GisbOrne. There is no family.
