NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.

The National Dairy Show Committee | met yesterday afternoon. There were i present:—Major Dunk (chairman), and Messrs Standen, McCrea, * Sutherland, Balsillie, Mcßae, Lancaster, Batchelar, Cohen, McKenzie, Hodder, Gibbons, McKenzie, Johnston, Pringle and Thomas. Correspondence was received from the Ngaire Dairy Co. with' details of coins placed in the half ton cheese for the Winter Show; from the Department of Agriculture enquiring what space would be available for them at the Show. The latter details will be supplied by the secretary. Mr J. Sweeney, Master of the Manawatu Hunt Club, wroto regarding the conditions, of the maiden hunters' competition at the Winter' Show, .which ho said would probably prevent a number .of horses competing. It was decided to alter the definition to read that any horse is eligible to compete that has'not won a competition open to all-comers at registered race meeting or agricultural show. The secretary of the Dairy Managers' Asociation wrote that a papers on "Pasteurisation" would be read at the National Dairy Show, and probably also one on the "Care of Milk from the Cow to the Cheese Press."

After considerable discussion the chairman's proposal to hold a milking machine display, working, at the Show was agreed to. * Four firms have intimated their intention to take part in the test. The following senior stewards were then appointed for the National Dairy Show: Gates. —Mr J. M. Johnston. Ring competitions.—Mr D. Pringle. Dairy Factory Produce.—Messrs Standen and Lancaster.

Fruit.—Mr W. McKenzie. Vegetables.—Mr J. R. Foster-Pratt. Field Roots, Farmers' Seeds and Grain, —Mr A. Sutherland.

Public School Gardens and Natural History—Mr J. T. Hodder. Home Industries.—Mr J. Balsillie. Poultry.—Mr R. Lloyd. Sale Half-ton Cheese.—Messrs F. S. Mcßao and J. A. McCrea.

Space Committee.—Major Dunk and Mr D. McKenzie.

It was decided to present the various medals, cups, and trophies won at the Show, at the annual smoke concert, and to have these placed on exhibition in some shop in the Square for some time prior to the Show. \
