J Peter Jokitch, « convict, who appeared in Court at Jejerevats on February 12th (the Daily Express Belgrade correspondent reports), spent the previous day in adjusting his fustian blouse to his figure and improvising a stiff high collar with a strip of old bed-linen and some starch procured from a warder's wife. Moreover, he narrowed and pressed the seams of his trousers, polished his leg-fetters till they shone, and waxed the tips of his moustache, so that he created quite a sensation as he strode in between two policemen.
