CROSSING THE ALPS.
A SUCCESSFUL EXPLORER. (Per Press Association.) HOKITIKA, March 14. Dr. Teichlemann, the explorer, has reached Hokitika safely. With Guide Graham, he left Lake Heron 011 February 28 with the intention of going up the Rakaia Valley, and attempting the ascent of Mount Arrowsmith and returning to the West Coast by the Big Wanganui, and owing to their non-arrival concern had been felt for their safety, especially owing to the i fact that the explorers were believed to have only four days' provisions when they set out. The Hon. T. Mackenzie had ordered search parties to go out.
