Ta.it. the eliroctors of the tour, state that, at tho rev;uest of the Besses themselves, arrangements were made whereby the second Australasian tour was inaugurated in Now Zealand, where they won their first Australasian triumph some l three years ago. The. men hold a warm niche in , their hearts for Maoriland audiences, and for tin's reason anel for the fact that the directors are not unmindful of the generous support accorded their enterprise on that occasion, the Messrs Tait have, at considerable outlay, altered arrangements so as to permit or the tour being commenced at Christchurch. The Band came elirect from South Africa to Christchurch, and the first and subsequent appearances have been nothing short of positive triumphs. The band has altered little, is still under the coiuluetorship of Mr Alexander Owen, and is said to be far more brilliant even than on the previous tour.
