AUCTION SALES

Harry Palmer's sale of furniture from the Occidental Hotel was commenced in the Lyceum Theatre yesterday, and was largely attended. Bidding yesterday and to-day was spirited. The ,sale will be continued in the Lyceum to-morrow. Fox ten residents will be interested to know that Mounsey and Co. will sell the properties in the estate of the late Richard Walden on Monday next at 1 p.m., in Foxton. The sale will be held on the Norbiton road property, and should command spirited bidding, as the properties must be sold to wind up the estate. Mounsey and Co. advertise details of the articles of superior furniture to be sold at Mr Goring-Thomas' sale on Friday next. The piano, by Paul Werner, cost 80 guineas, and is a very fine instrument. and has only been in use a few months, and among the other lines arc several pieces of oak furniturej including sideboard, 6 dining chairs, coal scuttle, etc., all brass double bedstead, Chesterfield and 2 divan chairs, lady's B.S.A. bicycle, photo daylight developer, and many other lines, and as Mrs Gor-ing-Thomas is leaving for England shortly over line must be sold at the. sale. Buyers are given a final reminder of the sale of well-kept, clean, and almost new household furnituro and effects on account of Mrs Young, at her residence, Hereford street, on Wednesday, at 1 p.m. Amongst many other lines are a good Chesterfield, large easy chair in Utrecht velvet, handsome sideiboard, really good carpet square, nioe quiet""pony, trap, and harness, two children's cots, ! brass-rail bedsteads, duchess chest and table, and all tho varied goods usually found in a comfortably furnished residence. The house will bo open to-night between 7 and 8, and on the day of sale from 11 o'clock, for inspection. The Manawatu Aucrion'-ering Co. conduct tlie sale, and as Mrs Young is letiving Palmecston their instructions aro to clear every lino.
