WEALTH OF BROKEN HILL
There are a few croakers around who hold the opinion that, as a result of the strenuous drain of the past 20 years upon tho marvellous silver-lead-zinc lode that has placed Broken Hill in the forefront as the world's greatest producer of the metals, the Barrier is worked out, and has become a, "has-been." Last week four companies declared dividends which mean a distribution of £53,000 among the shareholders. Tho dividends tfeclared are:—Broken Hill Block 10, 2s per share ; North Broken Hill, Is 6d; Broken Hill South, 2s; and Broken Hill Junction North, Is. The above distribution, added to those previously made by the four companies in question, will make their total disbursements £2,189,250. A striking feature is the fact that tho Broken Hill Junction North Company re-appears on the dividend list, after an absence of 13 years. Up to date tho Broken Ilill mines have paid nearly £14,000,000 in dividends, and the developments in some of the mines show that that remarkable field will bo paying dividends for many years to come.
