THE ESCAPEE CAPTURED.

AT AWAHURI. BY CONSTABLES BARRY AND O'SULLIVAN. Just as wo went to press advice was received by the police that Powelka had been captured at Awahuri at 2.30 this afternoon.

Constables Barry and O'Sullivan secured Powclka in a very simple manner. They were standing in the doorway of the Awahuri store, when their quarry walked past. He was dressed in an overcoat and wore an old brown hat, in addition -to the clothes he had on when he left the gaol, and he was also carrying a billy and a bag of 6alt.

A motor car was immediately despatched in charge of Sergt. Stagpoole and the runaway brought back to town.
