The selector, Mr Grecr, has chosen the following to represent Manawatu in the forthcoming match against the Australians —Ongley, Bartlett, Grcer, Wells, Trevena. O'Connor, McLean (captain), Goldspring, Holland, Mitchell, Cobbe, McKcnzie. Coyne. Emergencies, Mason, Eyre, Churchill. Eleven of the above thirteen will field, but thirteen will bat. MANAWATU v. HOROWHENUA. Manawatu had an easy win over Horowhenua yesterday at Levin, winning by nine wickets after a most enjoyable game. On arrival the visitors were driven to the Woraroa Training Farm, and were shown over the institution by Major Burlinson, and they were afterwards entertained at the school. In their first innings Manawatu knocked up 154, Goldspring- being responsible for 47, Cobbe 21, Holland 19, Eyre 20, and Roberts 13. Do May was the most successful bowler. In reply, Horowhenua only made 64, Bartlett being the main obstacle in the way of good batting. His deliveries were deadly. Their second effort was more successful, Naughton, not out 56, making a good stand against the Manawatu trundlers. the total being 101. Bartlett was again the most successful bowler.
