eV Mr D Louis Cohen, who is about to leave I last night. He also received a valuable dressing ba S from the Choral Society. In a recent issue we referred to the death of Mr David Wilkinson, the oldest European resident of Fiji. -In addition to his public services, mentioned in another column, deceased was a cotton planter for years, then cocoanut piantei, and also had the distinction of growing the first coffee in the island, with seed obtained from Ceylon. He took a great interest in cattle breeding, raising some fine herds at Bua, and demonstrated also that sheep could be profitably bred on various islands in the group. The late Mr Wilkinson was 76 years of age at the time of his death, and is survived by his wife and grown-up family. The funeral was attended by the Governor Mid other State officials, also prominent Fijians.
