The report of the Labour Bureau shows that during January a great deal of unemployment was reported in the city owing to the strike. In the country the conditions were generally satisfactory. There are over 2500 worldess in industrial trades, while many seamen are out of work. The Japanese cruisers Soya and Aso, formerly the Russian cruisers Varyag and Buvan, visit Australia next month on a training cruise for cadets. * * The Maoris who formed the village at Manly sailed for home by the Maheno. MELBOURNE, Feb. 10. Lord Kitchener has returned from Tasmania, and sails by the Encounter for New Zealand on Saturday. PERTH, Feb. 10. Robustelli, an Italian, was hanged for the murder of a compatriot at Coolgardie on October 19. Death was instantaneous. Arrived—Orontes.
