[Pee Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Fob. 4. At the Supreme Court at Wellington yesterday William McMahon, a .youth, was sentenced to four years' hard labour for an assault on a little girl. AUCKLAND, Feb. 4. The chief survey officer - of H.M.S. Challenger made a survey of the shoal in Rangitoto Channel for the Marine Department yesterday. Tenders for repairs to the s.s. Kaipara were received by the New Zealand Shipping Company yesterday, the amounts being cabled to London and not disclosed <n the meantime.
