WEDDING BELLS.
A very pretty double wedding was celebrated at All Saints' Church, Palmerston North, yesterday. The contracting parties were—Miss J. S. Sextcirl, eldest daughter of Mrs M. Sexton,, of Palmerston North, and Mrs C..,,5. W. Trask, only son of-Mrs Dunbar,. of Taihape; and Mise K. S. Sexton, third daughter of Mrs M. Sexton, to Mr W. H. Folks, second son of Mr J. T. Follas, of Pal.merston North. The brides, who were given away by their brother, Mr D. Sexton, looked charming in-cream taffeta, and the usual veil and orange blossoms. , . Miss J. Sexton was. attended by her sietcr, Miss C. Sexton, who was becomingly attired in pfnk silk muslin, and little Marion Strand, niece of the bridegroom. Miss K. Sexton was attended by her sister, Miss Mary Sexton, who was aleo attired in pink, and little Edna Gardiner, niece of the bride. The brides and two chief bridesmaids carried lovely shower bouquets, and the little bridesmaids carried baskets of flowere. Mr Trask was attended by M r A. Barker in the capacity of best man, and Mr Follas was attended by Mr Gus Waters as beet man. After the ceremony Mrs Sexton entertained a largo number of guests at Miss Wilson's tea rooms. The happy couples left by the afternoon trains, Mr and Mrs Trask to Wanganui and Mr and Mre Follas to Wellington for their honeymoon. The brides' travelling drcs6es were of navy blue cloth with hats to match.
A pretty but quiet wedding was solemnised in the Presbyterian Church yesterday morning, when Mr John Arthur Beattie, only son of the late Mrs E. J. Beattie, of Palmerston North, was united to Miss Alice Hammer, youngest daughter of Mre Hammer, also of Palmerston. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. I. Jolly. The bride was given away bs 7 Mr Fred Hammer, brother of the bride. Miss Maud© Beattie, sister of the bridegroom, • filled the important position of bridesmaid, while Mr T. Ward acted as best man. The happy couple left by the Auckland express for Wellington, where their honeymoon .will be spent.
Another wedding was also solemnised yesterday at St. Andrew's Church by the Rev. Isaac Jolly, M.A., the contracting parties being Mr W. Roberts, of Wairoa, Hawke's Bay, and Miss Jane Buchanan, of Ruahine street, Palmerston North.
A wedding which created much interest inr Waikanae took place in the church there yesterday afternoon, when Mr Leonard Freeman, son of Mr Walter Freeman, of Wellington, was married to Miss Gertrude Madgin, daughter of Mr and Mrs Madgin, of Tilchurst, Stevenage, Herts, England. The Rev. J. Jones officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr A. Williams, wore a frock of white Brussels net and lace over ivory glace silk. Over a wreath of orange blossom she wore her- mother's bridal veil. She carried a shower bouquet of white flowers, and wore the bridegroom's gifts, a handsome cameo pendant and Maltese lace scarf. E. "Freeman, from Palmerston North, who wa-s chief bridesmaid, wore a frock of turquoise blue chiffon taffetas with black picture' hat, and carried a shower bouquet of sweet peas. _ Two tiny bridesmaids, the Misses Marjorie and Jean Freeman, sisters of the bridegroom, wore frocke of white embroidery and Kitty Bellairs hats, and they carried white crooks with clusters of sweet peas. Mr J. Jameson, of Levin, was best man. After the wedding, about forty guests were entertained at a reception at Mahara House, where the rooms were decorated with sweet peas, native flowers, and ferns. Mr and Mrs Freeman afterwards left for Nelson, the bride travelling in a cream serge coat and skirt, with black hat.
