MR. ASQUITH'S ALBERT HALL SPEECH. NO PLEDGE TO IRELAND. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) IPer Pbebs Association.) Received January 20, 8.40 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 19. The Rt. Hon. J. A. Pease, in a further speech, said Mr Aequith, in his Albert Hall speech, gave no pledge that Home Rule would be given to Ireland. What he said was that the ban which the Liberals imposed upon themselves at last election was removed and the Liberals were free, if they desired, to extend self-'* government to Ireland, but everyone in the Government was pledged not to give Ireland an Independent Parliament, but a measure of self-government consistent with the union.

[The Right Hon. J. A. Pease, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury, and Chief Liberal Whip, addressing the electors at Saffron Waldon on Tuesday, pFedged himself to vote against Home Rule with an independent executive.] ■
