Mr Fraser. from Auckland, has taken over the Masonic Hotel. The quantity of wool despatched from this district so far this season is an increase over last year. This, however, may be influenced by the early shearing. Mr C. Oliver had the misfortune, to put his knee out when working at the slaughter yard. He is progressing favourably, and is at work. The following were installed as officers of Court Pohangina, A.0.F., Bros. A. Gardner (C.R.), W. Maunder (S-G.R. , A. Thessman (S.W.), J. Sullivan (J. W. , W. Sheridan (J. 8.). T. Blaskett (Treas.) W. R. Smith (Sec). Bros. H. Byers and \V. Sheridan were appointed trustees. The Education Board have decided to give the school and residence a muchneeded coat of paint.
