AUCTION SALES. To-morrow Gorton and Son will sell the dairy stock on the farm of Messrs Magrath Bros., near Bunnythorpe. The Manawatu Auctioneering Co. give buyers a final reminder of. Mrs. Blackburn's sale at 40 Albert street, on Wednesday, at 1 p.m. As Mrs Blackburn is going to Dunedin every line must be sold. Attention is called to a really good White sewing machine, lot of nice clean bedding and mattresses, both wire woven and kapoc, 3 chests drawers, Rambler bicycle, perambulator, ji)so alf the furniture usually found in a snug cottage home. All is clean and well kept stuff. A final reminder is given by Mounsey and Co. of the unreserved sale of good household furniture and effects they are conducting in King street to-morrow, commencing at 1 p.m. The whole of the furniture will be found in excellent order and most suitable to householders and furnishers. Special attention is drawn to the first-class piano to be sold and to anyone on the look-out for a good instrument the auctioneers recommend this one. The owner, who is leaving the district, is desirous of making an absolute clearance, so everything will be sold without reserve.

The wool sales re-opened with a good demand at about December closing rates. WHEAT AND SILVER. Received January 11. 8.55 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 10. The wheat and flour afloat is 2,515,000 quarters. Continent 817.000qrs, Atlantic shipments 235,000qr5, Pacific 40.000qrs. Tho total shipments to Europe for the week were 1,225,000qr5, including 3000 from the Argentine and Uruguay. Silver, 24 3-16 d.
