The" first innings of Victoria resulted in 93 runs, the chief scorers being Sewart 26, and Ransford 20. Emery captured seven wickets for 28 runs. In their second innings New South Wales have lost three wickets for 111. the chief scorers being Bardsley (not out) 59. Diamond 31, and Emory (not out) 11.
Prior to the selection of the last Englifih team for England, Noble advised the inclusion of Emery. If I were selector (said Noble) Emery would go to England with the Australian kle™n. He does not know much now, but he is a sensible youth, and is willing and anxious to learn. I think he can be coached to make a great bowler. YV ith an obvious lack of bowling strength there is a necessity for giving promising material every 'opportunity, and in kmerv the material is there." But they did not take him.
