The Earl of Selborne, South African High Commissioner, speaking at a banquet at Bulawayo, said that many large and important questions required settlement. Rhodesia would not enter the Union until South Africans and Rhodesians were chartered. He agreed that the time would be ripe when that time arrived for the Imperial Government to give the utmost assistance.

LONDON, Nov. 8. Sir Edward Grey, Secretary for Foreign Affairs, has informed the National Peace Council that AngloGerman Arbitration Agreement was renewed only for a year, because when it was expiring the question of inserting additional matter would be under consideration, but the British Government had since decided to favour a renewal for the remainder of the quinquennium.
