A COMPLAINT.
(To tho Editor.) Sir,—l wish to trespass on your valuable space to enter a protest against tho most unbusinesslike management of ia&t night's entertainment at the Showgrounds. As a visitor to your town and. one accustomed to sec Palmerston people manage their Shows well I was disappointed at the melee that took place. I arrived with a party of seven at 7.45
p.m., and it was exactly 8.45 p.m. when wo managed to reach the- grandstand. Probably nearly 200 people jumped tho picket fence and entered the grandstand free, and ninny went homo from the front entrance after waiting until their patience was exhausted. It is not necessary for me to explain what happened as hundreds must have been as annoyed as I was, and must agree that there isreal cause for complaint. In conclusion I wish to add that unices better arrangements are made in the future the executive will only have themselves to blame if the public show their resentment bystaying away.—Yours, etc., VISITOR.
