IMPORTING OWLS.

(Per Press Association." 1 CHRISTCHTJRCH, Oct. 21. Indignation was expressed at last evening's meeting of the Canterbury Acclimatisation Society that it was being credited with having liberated the grey owls obtained by the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association. One member stated that the society had been given credit for importing a lot of other vermin with which it had nothing to do, and it should be given out that it had actually protested against the importation of the owls. No notice had been taken of the society's protest, and the owls had been liberated. It was decided to advertise that the society had not had anything to do with the owls.
