HOCKEY.
A friendly game was played on the Showgrounds . yesterday between Old Boys 13 (assisted by Tait and Simmonds and two Post Office men) and Technical School (assisted by the Tucker, Bros.)- Play was not of a very brilliant nature but some good solid work was put m, ana the School, which is showing great improvement on last year's Performances, came off victorious l>y, to 4. Some of the School's neAv players are experienced men, and the team can be looked xipon to put up some good fights this yeai. A practice of its players w 111 be. held to-morrow morning at the usual place, and as there are now more Sen offering than there are .places •X the team the skipper desires, a full master in order that players may get into form and not be left out of the team through want of proficiency.
