THE IMPERSONATION CASE.
AMY BOCK BEFORE THE COURT Pbess Association.) DUNEDIN, April 27. • Amy Bock was brought before the Police Court this morning and remanded till Monday. She intimated her intention of pleading guilty to everything. The Court was packed and she had to be smuggled out to avoid the crowd waiting outside.
As stated yesterday Bock, in man's, attire, stayed at Ottaway's boardinghouse at Nuggets, and succeeded in winning the hand of the proprietor's daughter. The wedding was celebrated last week in great style. Mr Malcolm, M.P., and the officiating clergman, made speeches eulogising the bride and bridegroom, and the Clutha paper gave a lengthy and glowing account of the wedding and the trousseau, etc. The masquerader was taken to Dunedin yesterday, still in male clothes. With her hair cut short and dressed in the latest fashion, she had posed as Percy Carol Redwood, "nephew" of His Grace Archbishop Redwood, and .became a very pronounced favourite at Nuggets.. She had plenty of money, and represented that a wealthy mother lived in the Waikato. Bock is to be charged with false pretences in connection with certain money she obtained before going to Nuggets.
