ANNUAL MEETING OF THE PAL.

MERSTON CLUB.

There was a good attendance at last night's meeting of the Palmcrston Club, held in the Opera House supper rooms, when Mr H. F. Gibbons presided. The following officers were clected for the ensuing year: —Patron, Mr 11. 1 1 . Gibbons; president, Mr D. Buiek, M.P.J vice-presidents, Messrs A. Mahon, A. N. Gibbons, Stagpoole, Essex, C'liilds, Hurley, A. E. Bennett, W. L. Fitzherbert, Wm. Beck, S. Greer and Drs. Peach and Putnam; secretary, Mr R. Harkncss; treasurer, Mr W. Kyle; captain, Mr W. Boon ; vice-captain, Mr L. Skelley; management committee, Messrs Stubbs_, Gibbons, Dowries, Brough and Eglinton; delegates to Union, Messrs Sculler, Torstonson. Stubbs, Fraser, Mansford, Iiopwood; selection committee, Messrs Boon, Skelley and Gibbons. Eighteen new members were elected. It was dccidcd to start the season on Saturday on the Pascal street ground. A challenge was received from the Orient Club, Wellington, for a matcft on Easter Saturday, and it was accepted provided the game be played in Palmcrston. ,Tho subscriptions i'o-r the year were fixed at 5s and 2s 6d. The question of a gymnasium was brought up by Mr Fraser, and Messrs 11. F. Gibbons, Torstonson arid Fraser were appointed a committee to go into fhe matter and report to the next general meeting. It was decided that the Club's dolegates support a resolution in favour of the Rugby Union remitting the club's entrance fee to the accident- insurance fund for the season. Votes of thanks to the officers for the past year, and especially to the retiring secretary, Mr K. Kglinton, were passed and the meeting closed.
