THAMES, Feb. 9. The Hon. J. A. Millar, Mr Ronayne (Manager of Railways) and Mr Waite (Traffic Manager "for the Auckland District) arrived here on a Departmental visit. It was mentioned that the Department are replacing 5311) rails with 701b rails on the mam lines, and 401b rails with odlb rails on the branch lines. Last year 100 miles of rails had been improved and strengthened.
