A DISPUTE SETTLED.

DUNEDIN, Feb. 8. _ An agreement has been arrived at in the dispute between the Dunedin Tinsmiths , and Sheet-metal Workers' Union and the employers. The main points are as follows:—A week's i work to be 47 hours; minimum wage Is 2-Jd per hour, with provision for under-rato workers; period of apprenticeship to cover six years, at the following rates of pay per week— l<irst year 7s, second 10s, third 15s, fourth £1, fifth £1 ss, sixth £1 10s. Workmen are to be paid for time and expenses in travelling to and from work outside their employers' place of business. There is to be no piece-work. Employers are to give preference to Unionists, other things being equal. It is agreed that no reference be made to canister workers. One apprentice is allowed to three journeymen. The award will come into force on March 1, and continue for one year. ,
