HEAVY DAMAGES AWARDED

(Peb Pbess Association.) AUCKLAND, December 15. The rehearing of the action by the Northern Coal Company against the Union Steamship Company for £1946 damages, respecting the sinking of the kctch Moonah by a collision with the defendant company's steamer Wairuna o-i the night of March 10th last, was concluded to-day. The jury returned a unanimous verdict for plaintiffs,_ costs being awarded for . the second trial on the highest scale. • TJie Judge deferred his decision in regard to the ■ application for costs for the first, trial at which the jury disagreed.
